I had a vivid dream last night about seeing an article on my google feed about a surprise announcement of all of Deep Space Nine coming to blu-ray in HD, fully remastered and reframed to 16:9 (if What We Left Behind is to be believed, the show was shot to cover for 16:9 from the beginning. Not sure what that would mean for the CG effects but they'd probably have to redo those for a blu-ray anyways) and I was both overjoyed and annoyed that I'd definitely have to buy it and rerip and recompress every single episode of DS9 for my archive.
I recall the article even mentioning how insane it was for Paramount to have been able to keep such a massive remaster project under wraps for so long, because it was specifically that they were just up and releasing the entire show in one collected set, every season. And yeah, that would be pretty impossible to keep totally under wraps for however long it would take. The article also brought up the question of whether the same treatment would be given to Voyager.
Anyways it was vivid and memorable enough that I had to google this just now to confirm it was in fact just something my stupid brain pulled a prank on me about.
Might've been crossing wires over the recent Babylon 5 blu-ray announcement. Or maybe it was a PREMONITION OOOOO
