Our film will not only honor all those involved in the submersible tragedy, and their families, but the feature will serve as a vessel that also addresses a more macro concern about the nature of media today

ohhhh this is gonna suck. I'm watching it at minimum 3 times

I'm already pre-mad about however they decide to depict the actual implosion. so mad I'm going to have to go frame by frame. they need to give me an exact release date so I can set aside a weekend for hating this

Edit: I'm a little curious about the media criticism side of it. I doubt we'll get much more than some cartoonishly evil producer going "this is doing big clicks!" But there is actually a useful analogy between how the story was presented as a dramatic race against time when the smart money was on "they're already super dead", and the tendency to do "some people say COVID is real and climate change is a problem... but others disagree" fact-neutral reporting. But I absolutely do not believe this movie will do anything interesting with that.

They do! And have you discovered their "docket" pages? They're linked from the investigations and also searchable on their own, and have lots of interesting primary source material - full transcripts of interviews, photos of the scene, detailed background information.

(Every airplane incident, the majority of them non-injury biffed landings by private pilots, gets a docket so the aviation dockets can be a lot to browse through. I still think it's fun though.)
