Well part of it is that a lot of us are wearing the clothes we were not allowed to wear during our literal teenage years, but also: a lot of the things that we think of as age markers in fashion are more accurately signifiers of social status and stability. A lot of us are just dressing like people without much to lose.

I know for me it's just the sheer inexperience that does it.

I'm just starting to present as feminine, which means I'm just starting to choose a whole new wardrobe on my own with no idea what looks good together or not. It kinda feels like I'm a teenager again and just grabbing a bunch of clothes that I like individually but with no idea of any standard outfit rules/concepts or how they should go together.
