the weather isn't great today, but a friend from NASASpaceFlight (an independent space news outlet) and I made the trip to Playalinda to see the rocket once it had been brought vertical.
I'm as of yet unsure how I feel about these photos, it was so hazy I wonder if they're even worth putting up there. neither camera really WANTED to take anything across 3 miles of hazy air, they barely even wanted to focus, so these are the best I got.
There's a certain moodiness to it that I think is appealing. I don't know if rockets can be "autumnal" but I think that's a close match for it
it's definitely some sorta mellow. maybe if the weather's better tomorrow i might sucker someone into headin out to the beach again if there's any sun in the afternoon, now that it pushed to Friday
I dunno - I think it kinda works! the slightly missed focus + grain almost make it kinda look film-esq. makes it looks like an early shuttle film or something.
i think the grain is from one of Snapseed's filters trying too hard, it doesn't really have a middle ground between "not applied at all" and "blows your picture to grainy hell," so i'll probably go back on the computer and do a proper edit for that one since that jpg's all i got (that camera doesn't shoot raw and i don't have chdk installed on it to make it do so yet)
