bad news: i have just played the first steam nextfest demo that - I can't PROVE it but - I am 90% sure it's using AI voices
the main character has a sort of atonal hyperconsistency to her voice that just doesn't seem like a real person could possibly EVER give that performance. Like the voice acting equivalent of asking what flavour cardboard is
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a few in there. I know for a fact that a couple AI voice companies have been pushing HARD in the smaller/indie games space
I saw someone here talking about a game that I swear has AI generated furry art in it, I similarly can't prove it but AI stuff just feels off in a way that's hard to explain.
sure feels like it, they're poorly drawn in some really obvious offputting ways. plus it's a "joke" DLC pack with 256 portraits in it, that makes me think they just didn't give a shit and went for AI art. hiring actual artists for that many illustrations would cost money.
It took me like 15 minutes to confirm the one ship shown on their store page WASN'T stolen Sunless Skies art, there's some real suspicious vibes on this whole project
fuck as if the AI art wasn't shady enough. I only recognized the obvious but not that they could've stolen art assets and modified them too.
I can tell from literally the first couple seconds that it's AI generated (teeth are nonsense)
the wonky snouts and eyes did it for me, plus the rendering style, but that's a very good point too, teeth are incredibly poorly done by AI

A pity, since the game itself is really good, and it's lone single developer really does care. Just not about AI gen's pitfalls.
Aww, that’s a shame. One of the things we love about Deus Ex: Invisible War is that both Guy and Girl Alex’s voice actors are going for an atonal inflection to match how JC Denton sounded in the first game, and it works so well. Wish we saw more of that instead of rendering it through AI
on a much nicer note, would love to hear about any demos you liked a lot; iv'e been playing SO many and am always lookin for more wierd little gems

Listened to some of the stream on steam. Theres some weird breaks in sentences that are either two lines chopped together or ai fuckyness. They sound super samey all across their reads. Its pretty possible.
