FINALLY SOME FUCKING VINDICATION ON NOT WASHING MY RICE THANK YOU MADE WITH LAU

I've never noticed a difference in any dishes working with washed or unwashed rice, the whole thing feels superfluous to me.

(In the video he says not washing your rice "doesn't affect the texture too much" but it does get any dust or debris that may have gotten on it during harvesting & packaging)

it's this, yeah. texture wise it makes almost no difference for most dishes, and washing rice is a thing you do for normal medium or short grain rice mostly. long grain you don't need it, risotto and such you actively shouldn't do it. but I used to have an absolute mess to clean up when cooking with a pressure or rice cooker and not washing it beforehand, so I just do it every time for everyday sticky rice stuff.
