Idk how effective a lazyweb will be on here but I'm going crazy trying to remember what this game is

There was some sort of indie space sim circa 2008-2011 and I can't find any traces of it anymore

Things I know about it:

2d top down space game
you had direct control of a single ship that you manually piloted
people compared it very heavily to Elite
had trading, space combat, upgrading to better ships, all that stuff
there was a very expensive "fuel scoop" addon you could buy for your ship that made it get free fuel from suns that you flew near and it saved a lot of money

I'm 90% sure it was on PC but there's a slim chance it was a mobile game instead. It's definitely no newer than 2013

Maybe someone else will remember this????

Since everyone is taking shots in the dark, I’ll do too. Could it be Space Rangers 2? It got an HD remaster in 2012. The main mode of controlling the ship is setting a destination and waiting, but there’s a mode where you control it in a more arcade-y way.
It also has a 3D RTS mini-game for some reason, but it’s a relatively minor part if I recall correctly.

I have nothing useful to contribute except that the scraping the sun corona to recharge the ship was a major plot point in the TV show Stargate Universe (the best one)

This sounds similar to a game I played ages ago except it also has these bizarre point and click adventure sections between the 2d top down space trading sections.
