the way western media is reporting out israel's decision to restore water1 service to part of gaza as a humanitarian move, after cutting it off for nearly a week as part of a "blockade", is definitely one of the more disgusting things I've seen in my adult life

like the BBC live blog has had two stories about the same woman who escaped re'im kibbutz by texting her dad she hadn't talked to in six years, but no discussion of what is missing from their expression of relief that israel might be making southern gaza, which sits on the same body of water so many of its reporters vacation on, "safe for civilians" by restoring its access to water service
