The Hydra.
Starting with the several elephants in the room: These are three individuals who share one body, more than it is three heads for one individual. They do have individual forms as you can see up top, but don't be deceived, they are never that form physically. Instead, it represents one of the most prominent enchantments on this dragon: If any head is quiet for more than 5 minutes, that head (and associated body parts) will become imperceptible (unless they were the last to speak, since at least one head is always visible). These imperceptible heads can still do things without being seen, free to do whatever they want without drawing any attention, while the visible head enjoys the luxury of looking "normal" to everyone else.
Because of this, these three are somewhat of an exception to the solitude nearly all other dragons experience. They live in the city, and enjoy fairly normal lives, albeit split between three people. And when they have privacy, they're never really alone either. ...That said, it is somewhat a miracle that they've managed to keep the fact they're a three-headed dragon a secret for so long, given how chatty they all seem.
And for a quick introduction to each head...
Drace - She/Her Generally the most mischievous head, and the closest to living up to her title of Dragon of Deceit. She enjoys being able to pull relatively light-hearted pranks while practically invisible. That said, she also quite loves being the visible head, and getting to joke around. Enjoys physical activities and parties.
Drapti - They/Them Despite their moniker as Dragon of Deception, they're a very honest and helpful individual. Although all the heads are chatty, they'd be the quickest to say they enjoy chatting with people. They're the most commonly visible head due to being put in charge of their job as a tutor, although that's somewhat sporadic work.
Drapli - He/Him The quietest of the heads, but the one who most enjoys being visible. Likes to sing and talk to himself, enjoys books and music, and likes to just sit down outside in a park. Likes having a conversation on any given topic, and in fact gets really into talking when something he likes comes up, but is never one to strike up a conversation on his own. Cursed to be the hydra head that most enjoys a quiet moment, Drace and Drapti often let him take the lead as apology for being chatty.
Further facts:
- Each head can switch the positions of the other two heads, but not themself. It's disorienting to do so, however, and frequently leads to retribution form the other two heads. As such, their position is usually constant for a while at least.
- Their physical features aren't quite set in stone. Their base head shape is unchangeable, but additional features can be added (or removed) by agreement of the other two heads. Doing this unprompted is similar cause for retribution, but all three generally are supportive of letting everyone self-determine their features (outside from occasional pranks/retribution).
- Although there has been dragons of Deception, Deceit, and Duplicity for untold centuries, these three are relatively young. When a head dies in some way or another, it is quickly replaced by the nearest living being, who takes on the title of the previous head. This doesn't affect their memories or personality at all, and the other two heads are expected to bring the new head up to speed on everything. Given how unreliable a method of relaying information this is, these three know basically nothing about the history of dragons aside from what's common knowledge.
- One would think that the hydra and dragon themed clothes would draw attention, but it's surprisingly easy to get away with.
- Although quite big, an enchantment lets them enter normal sized doors and exist inside rooms without breaking things incidentally. Breaking things intentionally or accidentally is a different matter.
- They aren't like, "plot relevant" for anything I just wanted them to exist.
- All three of them snore, so they can't attend sleep-overs.
