last night one of the other dish/bus folks decided he was going to come to work drunk and started shouting and fighting with people
so i got a call at 9am to be like "we need you in today and you're going to have a new schedule." for a part time job, if i hadn't specifically asked for the delta heavy off tomorrow, i would be wednesday-wednesday with only one day off in the middle aha. at least i'll get decent hours for the first paycheck.
i was already awake early, because this was gonna be my day off and i was gonna vibe, so i tried to nap a bit and then gave up and went "fuck it, i'll pregame with ibuprofen and go through with my existing plans and just do them before work instead" Good news: this worked, but that's spoilers
part one of day plans: start an account at the credit union. i get a portion of tips from the tip pool, i don't know how it works but back of house gets some cut of it all. I'dd planned on putting all my cash tips into that savings account now, since there's a branch right by my house, and another one literally a block away from my new work. It was surprisingly easy to walk in there and just be like "one account please" it just involved waiting.
Then I rode towards downtown and stopped by the podiatrist i'd been recommended. Self pay for an exam is only ~≤250 (that's if they have to do the most thorough exam with liek, 3d scanning and everything, it could be less depending), i can make that work once i'm a few paychecks deep! They even do custom orthotics if necessary, though I'm not sure they will be.
i was going to fill out an application to start volunteering at the museum, i feel like it's only fair given how much i like that place (see: this thread) but given apparently my "this is your schedule for the next 365 days" didn't even last... four? i'm gonna hold off 'til we're settled. I'm hoping i can get Sun/Wed+Thurs off, rather than Sun+Mon/Thurs like it was before my schedule got fucked. now it's Mon/Thurs/Sat off and that's the worst of all worlds except for thursday which i specifically asked for off because of boomer shooter nights.
I need two days off in a row because one is laundry+cooking day (which may as well be work for all the exertion involved) and then a rest day proper, i think.
