@F-Z-Blackheart asked:

Okay, so if it is the gateway and the IP, there might be something going on up the chain to the switch or the router. This is all networking stuff, but I think you knew that. If others in your house are having this issue and they are hard wired as well, check to see if the router/switch is on is my first step of advice. If it isn't try turning it on, and if it is, try a power cycle [Unplug from power for 30 seconds or more then plug back in). If neither of those work, it is something probably with the set up.

Now if others are wireless [or if they are wired] and are working but you aren't check your wires, then repeat the steps.

This is about the best I can do without being there and fucking around with your network. Gods speed.

both my router and my modem have within the last week been power cycled due to troubleshooting w/r/t the coax line into my house finally shitting itself completely, this issue was present before and remains present after

all other devices in my home are wireless and function as normal. the computer functioned as normal when it was on windows 8 with this hardwired connection, but now that it's on 10 it's decided "maintaning a connection when i'm physically wired into the router is TOO HARD :("

fortunately i'm not entirely technologically inept, just tremendously exhausted with fiddly bullshit. I did build this thing ten years ago, after all. I'm at least able to go find a driver if i'm missing one or if i noticed that it had a windows generic driver from 2015
