i think it's interesting that the enterprise d had multifunction displays on the captain's armrests, yet he has to ask tactical to fire weapons. under normal circumstances, yes, that task would be delegated, but you'd think he would have an override. what if worf's dead

I have a vague memory of Picard telling the computer to route weapons to his console, though tbqh I don't think I could actually pinpoint it to an episode.
conversely, if they had more bathrooms with privacy kiosks you could probably lose the whole security team.
I am amused that on Artemis Bridge Simulator the captain has no access to any controls at all.
