ah, a chance to educate... so, 🍥 fish cake, along with many other japan-specific emojis (e.g. 🈯, 🈂, 🏩, and probably the most obvious example of all, 🗾) exist as emojis when other countries don't have nearly as many culture-specific things because emojis were a japanese thing, originally. when unicode was initially adapting all the existing language encoding schemes into a single unified one, they were forced to include all of the existing emojis that japanese standards had included at the time, or else risk losing meaning for some text. if they weren't already in the standard at the start, i kind of doubt any of the emoji i listed would be added! but in reality, we have emoji because of these little guys, if you want to view it that way. so really that's a load-bearing fish cake you're talking about right there
