i pushed my luck a whole lot when i shouldn't have, and nearly lost a camera to it. I also let it get in the way of enjoying my time out, because i let it get in my head that 'i don't get to playalinda often, i need to make the most of it'

juggling one tripod in the crashing waves was already enough of a challenge as it stood, i didn't need to try at the last minute to work a second one in "so i had a backup." the 70-300 had me covered for getting both shots i wanted to try for, i shouldn't have tried to bring a second camera into the fold to try and do both at once.

i broke my one personal rule for doing these shoots. "don't try too hard and don't let it get in the way of enjoying yourself."

ugh

this was the contingency shot. the one I tried for nearly killed both cameras when a wave hit me and the tripods, knocking one of em over. caught it before it hit the water, though!

it's been a few hours since I got home, I should in fact double check the state of both cameras, though.

also, cohost feature request: please, even if the attachment goes stale, don't delete the alt text from the draft, this is the third time I've had to write it.
