i'm a boy from indiana and this is very emotional for me
Is there more to find on that page than the title "PATRICK by michael lutz"? I've tried clicking the box, scrolling vertically, and scrolling horizontally
I did not. I thought it was a title and didn't realize it was also a link.
...and unfortunately, things like Medium have trained me that if you see a title and a huge banner image, the thing that will get you to the content is to scroll a long way
No worries! This is an artifact of a now long gone era of web design (it's old enough I didn't even optimize it for mobile and thought maybe it wasn't working with a touch screen, even)
I'm not sure what I read. I'm now vaguely unsettled. Mission accomplished maybe? Haha
What a strange, wonderful, charming, unsettling tale. At any moment it could veer into horror, just in time for Halloween. Instead it remains, appropriately, wholly and universally relatable.
o my god this was so good!!!!! and the fact the name changes everytime you reload the story is so cool
Oh the name randomizes? For me it was Michael, so I assumed it was reverse-autobiographical...
yes! the name can also be "Patrick" which also changes the thrust of the story in a different way (at the time i thought this was thematically interesting but then realized only like 1% of readers are going to hit the Power Names but eh, you can't win'em all)
oh man i thought i was the only one this happened to regularly
I had this problem when I lived near the Dell compound in Austin and went into the 7-11 by my house for breakfast. Multiple people have asked me if I worked there.
