Thank you!!! i am deep in drafting on the book right now so i've been thinking about the show a lot as i dig through my notes and the archival stuff i collected. it was, in retrospect, a pretty exhausting process but i think we ultimately managed to produce something that is fun and interesting, and i'm excited to get some of the big thoughts condensed down into a format a general audience can enjoy.
actually probably one of the biggest difficulties of writing about homestuck in detail for a broad audience is having to provide a plot summary snapshot for immediate context to whatever event i'm describing, realizing my reader is going have at least fifteen questions about the situation i just described, and trying to find ways to say in a fairly professional way "i know you're confused about why this kid's brother is challenging him to ninja battles with a puppet, please just understand that it's not important currently and i will touch on it more extensively in a later chapter"
