mostly because i do not see music and video sizes getting usefully* larger, i can carry a massive media library in a modern NVME enclosure with like a terabyte of storage and 10gbs transfer rates on a fucking keychain for like... under $100. also it has zero moving parts.
*they will try to come up with something after 4k+HDR and it will obviously be a useless cash grab like 3d was
