every time i try to interact with video related software i'm reminded how outrageously lucky we are that OBS studio is 1: open source, 2: shockingly competent, 3: de facto standard.
it does things that a professional tv studio from 20 years ago would've had to pay out the fucking nose to do... for free
meanwhile i want to use my phone as an NDI camera which... while i have no illusions about being as simple as i'm imagining, is orders of magnitude less complicated than everything OBS does given there are SDKs that handle all the network crap and everyone wants a subscription or something outrageous by comparison
this is probably the consequence of apple demanding a pound of flesh to put something on their store, whether or not you're going to make money off it. still sucks.
