there's so much charm in these colorful individualized chapter titles. they look great all lined up like this vs the more reined-in "shojo editions" from volume 11 onward.

What I miss the most about that era is the hand lettering. Seeing the lifeless computer letters on more recent reprints of manga that came out in that era makes me sad ngl, a real vibrant craft that matched and elevated the messy, lived-in style of art - especially Masamune Shirow's stuff.
