i made the hood a little weird, but im otherwise proud of the raglan increases... very fun new thing. also the pockets were pure impulse i don't really know what i was doing. the zipper i bought in toronto over reading break so that's also fun.

i need data on the nhl fangirls. where are they from? what was the sport culture in their hometowns growing up? i feel very blessed that i got the “actually wants to fuck hockey boys” illness knocked out of me through real life interaction with the worst guys my brothers played with, because otherwise i might be out there calling veteran defensemen pookie and drawing chibi sprites of men with missing teeth.

i lost my water bottle (my dad’s ancient black hydroflask i stole from his truck when i left for a volleyball practice at like 15 years old) in a lecture like a month ago, so i’ve been using an plastic vitamin water bottle and the rim smells just offensively of weed and i dont seem to remember that until im in the library and am struck by a terror that someone will look at me funny.

i know this has been said before, but good god can we stop trying to earnestly claim that fashion choices are made in a vaccuum? that it is possible to make a decision about what sheet or tube or scrap of fabric to cover our bodies with without considering the societal conditions of the world that has told us to cover those bodies? you can't dress punk "for yourself," because that choice consciously aligns you with a subculture that other people will immediately associate you with. you can't dress in business attire "for yourself," because wearing overly nice clothes in a context where it's not expected will necessarily change the way you are interacted with in that space. you can't dress slutty "for yourself," because you—as a human being who has interacted with other human beings—know that it will have an impact on the kind of attention you attract.

i honest to god cannot believe that any decision is made without considering other people. no one is an island, and that is okay! you're allowed to want to be read as politically aligned to some movement, you're allowed to want to be treated more seriously, you're allowed to want people to want to fuck you. you just can't pretend that those desires are not playing a part in your choice of clothing.
