solution ...okay so now i'm just gonna put in a load of text that won't show up on-screen but should pad out the off-site embeds (like discord) enough that the solution won't actually get spoiled in the embed hopefully maybe. wouldn't it be great if cohost hid the spoiler tags from the embed text? i think that'd be neat. okay hopefully that's enough padding now fingers crossed. anyway if the embed is still going then *gasp* spoilers, the solution is BOCCHI

in bocchi the rock, when ryo gives bocchi advice on how to get approached by women (when they're trying to be more band-like), the advice she gives is to stand at a specific location holding her guitar looking listless and "someone will come up to you sooner or later". I've only just realized, but I think she's talking about kita. when kita's talking about why she wanted to join kessoku band, she says she saw ryo playing on the street and was attracted by her cool vibes and androgynous appearance. it's totally a ryo thing to confidently assume that because one girl became attracted to her under those circumstances that it's a foolproof plan that will work every time, without trying it a second time herself.

bocchi the rock is great and awesome not just because of the empathetic and non-trivialized way it depicts social anxiety, but also because of the way it puts her in the Most Horrific situations before forcing her to see why it's actually not as horrific as she thought. there's one line from the kikuri introduction episode that really stuck with me. she says "none of these people are my enemies" during the performace as she starts to gain confidence and I think I genuinely became like 8× more confident in that moment watching that. I think about that sometimes
