It happens sometimes, right? We're in the middle of the heatwave that is baking the west, so we didn't take him for a walk until 10pm last night.

As we walked through the neighborhood he suddenly stopped and stared at a house across the street. Ears and tail straight up, just staring. So we walked across the street, hoping to give him a chance to satisfy his curiosity - figuring it was a cat/raccoon/skunk or something. I had a nice powerful flashlight on me, and once we crossed the street he froze, just staring at the house. I checked under the cars parked out front, the bushes, etc but didn't see anything whatsoever. Suddenly he tucked his tail, ears back, and bolted away from the house as fast as he could. As we walked away he would take a few steps, then take a peek over his shoulder and give a little woof. This continued all the way back to our house, out of sight of this other place.

Once we got back inside he zipped over and jumped on our bed (his safe spot), staring straight through the walls directly at the house, where he woofed quietly for the next hour.

Happy spooky season, everyone. Sounds like it's gonna be a good one.
