I went and flew a place called Potato Hill yesterday, I hadn't flown there before. The air was pretty active but it was a really nice day. The air can get really strong in August, there's lots of thermal energy making it to the ground and when it releases you can encounter some very peaky updrafts. I flew through a very sharp well defined thermal that was going up at about 6 meters a second on top of St John Mountain, it was kinda wild.
