also would like to say that we currently have far more cohost Plus! subscribers than i ever could have imagined at this stage. i'm speaking on behalf of everyone when i say that we're thrilled y'all are enjoying cohost enough to pay for it. we haven't broken even yet (it'll still be a bit for that) but the success and trajectory is giving us the freedom to focus on making cohost the best it can be.
we're going to add more features once we've got other things under control. thanks for subscribing even when the only things you get are slightly larger uploads an the knowledge that you're helping us stay alive.

buddy i subscribed before i even had the ability to Post.
i could tell just immediately from the Bullshit that i saw others getting up to and the fact that it was just Completely Fine and Allowed and Good To Do and that there wasn't any numbers or calls to action or whatever, that this is a website i want to exist. even if i end up not using it much or even if i didn't manage to get an invite from a very good friend shortly after i clicked the "give choost the monet" button, this is objectively a thing i want to help be on the internet.
i remember the absolute chaos of people fucking around with html on myspace. chat services like MSN just allowing you to do Whatever with your rich text box. back when the response to that was "holy fuck that's cool how do i do that". hell, deviantart used to let you just deadass write html and css for your deviantart journal if you had a subscription and you bet your ass i used to make extensive use of that. i haven't been on deviantart in many years now but i would be extremely surprised if that's still something you can do.
a service that allows a non-homogenised experience that you can just harmlessly Fuck About with and learn and have fun on is a service that i will help to exist.
