the whole thing started with just, me reading my rss feed and putting together n-gate-style summaries of The Day's Tech News, and someone said they liked that i did that, so i started a telegram channel for it (https://t.me/itisthenews), but i started getting "oh i'm a big puppy with this" brain and started reporting on actual news of serious implication
guess what: when you keep up with the mainstream world news you get extremely doomer-brained and it burns you out.
thinking about bringing that over to cohost but exclusively for low-stakes bullshit ("oh the eu forced apple to do usb-c" is low-stakes but "apartheid is back" is extremely not and i'm not the person to bring you sarcastic short-form real-life reporting).
