I was going to wait until its third birthday but might as well bring it up now.
I've had @plus-deactivated-20220516 in my account switcher for ages and it always makes me smile. Back in the friends and family beta, I realized that since cohost lets you access accounts via subdomains (https://dog.cohost.org and https://cohost.org/dog are both valid), I could take any subdomain I wanted. So when cohost plus was announced, I jokingly snagged the @plus account just to sit on plus.cohost.org. I immediately turned it over to @staff, but not before making one joke post. As a reward(?), I was granted the first account deactivation in the history of cohost1, and given the chance to sign up for cohost plus early.
This was all before the public launch so I wasn't messing anything up for a wider group of people - just having fun when the site was still a small group. Fun times.

That's why this uses the old tumblr-style deactivated URL - it was all done manually
the subdomain part of cohost is really rad and i’m sad almost no other social services do that. tumblr did for a long time, and technically still does, but they’ve really been aggressive about redirecting to tumblr.com/username the past year or so.
bandcamp might be the biggest site that still does it.
