theyre ruggedized, have good privacy and encryption settings, and i can get one for like $11 to $20 a month.... hmmmm
thinking strongly about my next phone
edit: yeah probably gonna go sonim xp3plus for my next phone, ive decided i love it. plus i'd only need a talk and text plan for it and those are so cheap now
Punkt mp02 pigeon https://www.punkt.ch/en/products/mp02-4g-mobile-phone/ (it's stupid expensive so I will never buy one but I love it)
check out the Nokia 1100
- sold over 250 million units, might still be the best-selling mobile phone of all time
- built to be cheap, but tough: it has a grippy case and a dust-resistant keypad, both of which are easily user-replaceable
- first phone with a built-in flashlight
- monophonic ringtones (but you can make your own!)
- "apps": alarm, calculator, stopwatch. Need anything else? bring a separate device. maybe a pda?
- bored with nothing but this phone in your pocket? good news! it comes with two games: there's Snake 2 (it's Snake, you know Snake) and Space Impact+ (a shoot-em-up with platforming sequences)
- lasts for like four days on a BL-5C battery (that you can still buy new ones of, just not from Nokia)
downsides:
- it probably doesn't work everywhere anymore because it only does like, GSM?
Caterpillar aka Cat, yknow THE COMPANY THAT MAKES BACKHOES AND BULLDOZERS makes phones too, including a rugged flip phone... but heres the weird thing.......
it's still a touch screen smart phone... its just got the flipphone physical keyboard too???????
