Thinking about this tonight because I was going to attempt to play it. Never before have I been presented with a graphical presentation whose vibes I so get along with on a PC-98. The mechanical designs are AMAZING to me especially for being a 1995 game. It has these big maps called up that feel cool, a surprising amount of customization, just a lot of good artwork and such going on.
I just wish I liked the gameplay more. This is one of those strategy games that just feels incredibly slow. There's many options for what you can do in a turn with your units, though it basically does amount to just 'you have action points, you can move, and you can scout, and you can shoot things.' The actual animations in-game aren't... very good. It's all handled from the top down map view. I know that this is a limitation of the system it's on it's just, man. It feels so very slow and tedious with how many enemies there are. I remembered trying the various Gundam strategy PC-98 games, and it's funny because like, among my friends I am probably the biggest tactics RPG liker, but these games definitely feel... way more akin to larger strategy games and I am just not as into them.
Anyway just me thinking about how I wish I liked something more than I did tonight on Cohost.
