I’m sorry I know I’m being shallow and it’s deliberately artistic and meant to inspire melancholy etc. but it just looks so fucking bleak
(reason 2 is that I know it would kick my ass)
started playing the fort night and sometime in the last few years it seems to have become… fun? I’m spending 70% of the time just exploring and finding things but the actual combat feels way better than it used to. maybe it’s the Zero Build mode that makes it work: I always disliked “frantically lay down a mess of boxes in the middle of a firefight” as a game mechanic.
the visual upgrades with Lumen are super impressive too—a game where you can break through walls is a terrific showcase for real-time GI. there are artifacts here and there, but by and large it works shockingly well.
