I’ve never been able to wrap my head around what seems to be one of the core assumptions of christianity; that people need their belief in the lord and the teachings of the bible and in order to be good and moral people. The real irony of being put into a christian private school was that the abuse I suffered there is what first shook my childhood belief.
It is so frustrating, I swear. If you insist on a rulebook to guide your actions, at the very least I think you ought to acknowledge it. If you insist on punishment and reward to keep yourself in line, you will quickly forget that other people are still people. I am sorry that you suffered at their hands, and that that is so common z.z
