I uh.
I accidentally ten thousand words. This one is in fact very words, and it starts off very painfully. It's the tale of a battered veteran making his way. I'm not kidding, it starts off very very rough for him. Like really badly, loudly suffering practically begging for death rough. I promise it doesn't stay terrible, it gets better. Set in the Post-Self universe, this is an upload story.
Editing is like, little to none. I've been at this all day, I did ten thousand words in one sitting and I am hurting like oh my god. I'll swing through and clean it up tomorrow.

The amount of people who've hit the end of the words in this and stopped without wondering why there's another page afterward has been terribly amusing. Especially when they go back and look.

Just think about all the praise I've given you before, remember it, and act like I just said it again.

The idea of a farm being where all the ungulates and farmdogs hang out is so, so incredibly charming. That's why I love your work. You imbue such a beautiful, lively, heartfelt charm into everything you write -- I aspire to do that with everything I create, too.

You've seen my praise in discord, but I have to give it again here for permanence sake. What you wrote here is outstanding and warmed my heart. I wish the best for Sierra and his new life, and love the girls on the farm and their absolutely charming attitudes (same can be said from Millie, as you're aware)

Keep up the amazing work Lynne, you are an inspiring writer!!

Lynne, it has been years since I have been able to read more than a paragraph in one sitting. This... This was the first time I've been able to read something in its entirety in a single sitting in so very long. This was beautiful. Thank you. I cried, happy tears.
I'm going to try and pick up your books as soon as I can.

I? Aaaa?
I am so happy you enjoyed, and that I managed to pull you in like that. I had a good time coming up with something fresh to work my brain out and I'm always happy when people can really feel a story and get pulled in that way. I hope maybe I rekindled some joy for storytelling for you <3
All my stuff in this universe is under my bookmarked tag #post-self extended universe
That said, I didn't write the original Post-Self books! That was @makyo and you can find her whole shop over at http://makyo.ink
I am however currently working on a book of my own, in a universe of my own, and maybe some day I can publish too.

oh my gosh I feel so damn silly now
I've seen so much post-self stuff from you I assumed.. Right, I am picking up those books, and when your book is done I am ABSOLUTELY picking that one up.
Iiiiii may have been spending the past 9 hours i havent been napping hyperfocused on the little snippet of the setting I got from your story. I am immediately infatuated.
You have a beautiful way with words.
And I am excited to learn more about the setting (and of course I've gone and gotten myself thinking about story ideas but yknow, should get the full grasp of the setting before I do any writing in said setting >u>)

I'd at least get the first book, to really pull in the gravitas of the setting and get your head wrapped around concepts like being "lost". All four are really good, don't get me wrong, but the first lays in the framework and the following three are advanced storytelling in world. If you want to get full deep in the world you can definitely get through all four, join the discord, etc. It's a fun environment and I really enjoy writing in it. I enjoy writing in the universe I'm building, but sometimes I like to get into some existing framework and really have some fun without worrying about worldbuilding. I think I did a pretty good job of laying in the super basics of uploading and the vast possibilities that are available after, but the books obviously go into far more detail. It's a cozy place to write, for me.
As for my book, well I still have a lot of work ahead of me and I took a little break from it to keep from regrinding stale concepts back in. I think it'll be fun when it's all finished and I do hope folks like it.
