"Ah!" I think to myself. "I do not like this thing! I should make this known to OP and my fellow creatures by way of rechos– No, no, I shall not. No, my dear, I shall simply click Silence Post, and as I do, I shall feel a weight drop from my shoulders, and I shall revel in this newfound lightness of being, this wondrous renewing of desire to chost at will! I shall acknowledge my past compulsions and think to myself, "There but for the grace of eggbug go I.""

in reply to @makyo's post:

This involves too much engaging with bad-faith arguments for my taste, even if only in comments. Watching someone shit on people enjoying $thing in a post because it is funny does not inspire in me the confidence that, on engaging, I get anything other than a snooty reply or "it was just a joke".

This is not a case of "someone was wrong on the internet!" Nor is it a case of, as may be the case here, "someone misunderstood a thing I said." This is a case of "someone is posting something incendiary for shits and giggles, and the solution required for my mental health is to silence and move on, despite the habits trained into me by other sites."
