i've found the opposite of that while watching a video of some guy playing a rhythm game my friend posted

i've never quite watched someone be so powerful and skilled at something and felt such complete "what the fuck is going on. what the fuck is going on. this is horrifying. we need to return to living in caves" horror at it. it's an oversensory anxiety attack personified. it's incredible

notITG, a modded/spinoff of In The Groove. This is, to be clear, a DDR-style game, with a step pad with four arrows.

A lot of modded rhythm games are really good for that. (I'm only okay at the game, all told :P the good players are really good.)

Neat approach! From what I can tell, the main bit is needing to tap nodes when the clock hands overlap them. Yellow ones you hold the initial node, and purple ones you tap the first node as the clock hand overlaps the others in the chain.

The wheel part is basically DDR given the arrows, with the rotation I can only assume having to do with the rainbow bit that you want to keep straight for maximum score, with the part where they're wiggling it being like the whammy bar in Guitar Hero.

Definitely a lot of visual overload though! Wouldn't want to start with this song for your first go!

while I adore notITG, and like, all of these are completely insane and awesome... at their core i DO kind of understand them. it's a 4 button rhythm game. it's ddr. it may have a bajillion insane effects, but at it's core it's DDR.

chrono circle is just madness
