@hamratza and I read the first part of our book, Motes Played, at a party tonight. I did not get a super good feel for the reaction, but it at least seemed to go over well. I will admit to being kind of worried about the book, but oh well, all I can do is hope it will be fine.

I wasn't paying much attention to the others (hard when there's like 6 or 7 critters speaking between 2 vessels), but it seemed well-recieved to me too.
NGL I wasn't paying attention just to the Cohost posts but there is something -distinctly- captivating and intriguing (and cute!) about the whole "There's no natural reproduction here but I can just CHOOSE to be a kid" thing.
FWIW, I liked it a lot!
I really enjoyed overall narrative tension between very localized coziness and very distributed social grumbling about mores :3
