Sending your question back at you: what do you recall your first anime being? And what do you think of it now?

Ooh, I think our very first one was Spirited Away, which is the case for a lot of people, but aside from that, it was YGO Duel Monsters!
Spirited Away remains timeless and classic, but there's not as much to pull from it or create new thoughts on, whereas ygo dm is like, 228 episodes or something. So obviously there's a lot more there by sheer volume. And we still like ygo dm a lot but don't think about it Too Much these days.

I saw Princess Mononoke before ever watching Spirited Away...and for some reason the latter scared me much more, ahahaha. Even as a kid I was fond of visceral meat monsters.

All my YGO was the 4Kidz version...which I absolutely adored. Parked myself in front of the TV every Saturday at 9 for years and years, getting my weekly duel monsters...and bumped the CDs with the corny custom music from promotional events like the movie and Burger King collab. ("One Card Short" is still a bop. So is that one Kaiba song.)

Tbf, Spirited Away has the scary grandma! Princess Mononoke has... humans causing problems for themselves? 🤔 Been a long time since we've seen it. I should rewatch it! "That one Kaiba song"... hmm, also something I should know off the top of my head, but I can't remember right now. Another thing to look up when done with work! -mlnt

That's a good one! There's so many bops on the Music to Duel By CD tbh!!

Haha, yes!! The ygo Italian dub opening is on the opposite end of whatever spectrum this is that the German dub opening for Naruto is LMAO. Michi is another Kaiba song, although by his Japanese seiyuu, Kenjirou Tsuda (and not even necessarily for Kaiba, I think this was for another character he voiced, but I can't remember who right now... ah, so I said, but so far looking around, it looks like it might've been for his own music CD? Not sure, though).
