The combination of having watched so fucking much anime and maybe also getting older has resulted in us becoming like many anime fans when older when I really don't want to bovver unless it's particularly good or does something unique, which is why Dungeon Meshi is the only currently-airing anime I'm watching. To be fair, I don't even keep up with looking at the full list of what's airing per season any more either, so there's a chance there's something really good airing! But it's nice to not feel pressured (by myself) to watch Literally Every Show, Every Season anymore.
Anyway, DunMeshi's premise was just too unique to pass up because I've never seen a "generic western D&D type middle fantasy genre" type thing pose the idea of using monster flesh or remains as food. Not in video games, either, but also, I don't play that many games. And now, of course, I'm invested for the characters, but the basic concept is just so good imo.
