The normal fare for magical girls is as follows: a cute mascot character (usually a small creature of sorts) offers you their magic. One quirky catchphrase later, you spin around in a glittery transformation sequence and come out with a new outfit and some superpowers.

Hana is a 26 year old woman who, as is standard, was offered the magic of a small creature (cuteness debatable). But in order to activate her powers and transform, she has to cut off her own head.

A queer interrogation on identity and cognitive dissonance, Dullahan is a gory take on the magical girl genre that aches for the pretty and painless glamor it hasn't been afforded.

"Dullahan" is a serialized novel updating every Sunday on Kindle Vella. You can read the first 10 chapters free, and the rest will help me pay my rent πŸ’ͺ
