Shipping Jason with Ra's al-Ghul is so big brain mode (← huge proponent of shipping that guy with older men who treat him badly. Not so differently with you wrt Dick/older men).
Jason can also be a whump machine if you believe. (I mean he already was the writer's actual whump because they just. Killed him off. That's still insane to me). ANYWAY BUT YEAH the time after Jason gets rezzed by Ra's and then ??? when whatever next happens is like the PRIME MOMENT (imo) that perhaps Ra's would take the opportunity to raise Jason as Batman's/Bruce's enemy and then it's like [drops agegap ingredients into the pot] oopsies. Oops. Oops. Oh dear. Oops. Sorry Jason. Oops.
It also does numbers because Jason is a little bit mentally compromised when he gets recently resurrected which makes him understandably reliant on Ra's for perhaps a few things, and then um oops al-Ghul's enemy's son is right there and. Oops. Haha oops... 💥

By reliant I mean like... iirc it's canon (in at least a couple things) that once recently resurrected Jason can't really make the wisest decisions, he acts out, he gets confused easily, etc. So I'm just. I'm just saying like if. If an older guy who has been through that sort of thing many times is like. "Oh I can help him through this" and they develop something almost master/student-ish by necessity. Then. I think [gets so lightheaded I pass out]

I was wondering if you meant at first that Jason was like so, uh, physically inept, I guess, after getting rezzed, like either weak or terrible coordination that he'd need help with basic functions like. Pissing. And I was like. Wondering where we were going with this because Ra's is old as shit and Jason is not the first young kid he'd have seen so I can't imagine it'd effect him that way. But I think I'm just calling myself out. 😶
Anyway, yeah. Mentor/student is the jam, always. It's akin to incest in my head which is why it's hot. It's almost like choose your own adventure parenting so it feels like the kid/younger character has more agency.
Nooo no no not quite that severe. Although I am undergoing a metamorphosis the more I think about it [grainy JPEG of a werewolf roaring and shredding its shirt]. But no I think one of the appealing factors of shipping Jason with older men is that even when he's at his most "together" he's still erratic and a loose cannon and that pairs sooo well with someone who has acquired wisdom and patience through age and I think that making Jason physically inept to a serious degree pretty severely lessens that dichotomy 🤔 In My Opinion

I love KH and FF (countless ships tbqh), and i was delighted to see Kratos/Lloyd on there lol, that's a ship i liked a lot when i was a kid, but i haven't replayed Symphonia since then... Kurapika/Chrollo is classic good stuff, and Brendan/Steven Stone is super cute. i have so many Pkmn ships hehe. and also. Alucard/Dracula is so fucking good aaaa the pathos
thinking about posting a Ship List of my own but it'd be so, so so long lmao i'd have to try desperately to stick to The Essentials

Yay ToS sameness!! :) Remains to be so nostalgic and joyful for me.
I didn't always like Kurapika/Chrollo because I wanted too badly for Kurapika to be happy and heal but then I actually used my brain and decided Kurapika could have bad decisions they feel conflicted about. I also got into HxH exactly in the middle of my anti phase [disintegrates into dust] so that probably explains the initial hesitancy. (Also yes I love Alucard/Dracula, I need them to either be very much in love and so tender with each other or kind of destroy each other through emotional turmoil and perma unrequited longing angst. It's the Victorian Gothic Literature vibe).
I would like to know your pokemon ships! And your ships in general! I would love to see a Ship List if you have the spoons/energy to write it up someday! :) 💜
