It makes me very sad to see "older" (~30s) -- even mid-20s -- people swear off fandom or using fannish terms for things because they think they have to, what, "grow up"? Like, did you also stop wearing fun colors or having any sort of fun whatsoever? Do you know how many 50+ year olds I know who are meganerds about Star Wars and DnD and do actually discuss fannish things including shipping with me? Get real. Embrace being a nerd forever. Why deny yourself joy. You're not on this Earth just to fall down under the weight of capitalism your entire life and do taxes. Please have fun. Smh!
