I recently finished ABZÛ which is a really lovely video game that (mostly) takes place underwater and is very serene with gorgeous details that keep away from hyperrealism (apparently due to wanting to prevent overwhelming the player from the amount of visual noise there would be otherwise) which is something I prefer in games because I couldn't really give a shit if I can see every pore on someone's face. The amount of underwater games that exist that are peaceful or not stressful are uh (checks list) almost nonexistent, in fact, I think ABZÛ might be the literal only one that qualifies per my personal criteria. (I want water games to feel like YOU BELONG IN THE WATER. I do not want a breath meter and I do not necessarily want hostile water enemies--unless I am well-matched against what is hostile to me. And yes this is because of otherkin/alterhuman reasons).
I kind of just want to showcase images of how beautiful it is but, uh, cohost limitations, so I'd need code it in and I'm feeling a bit lazy atm!
The game is named after a concept (and later, deity) in Sumerian mythology which ofc caught my attention because I love mythology. I must percolate thoughts about this and perhaps write a poaste about it sometime if it becomes Worthily Lengthy.
