gbfrjkedndeks the intentional emphasis is on the word enjoy. like theyre making a point about how their earbuds are good quality. its subtle and obviously doesnt translate

ok im still thinking about this so a quick deeper dive -

  1. chinese has (put simply) 4 tones:
  2. the word they chose for enjoy is 享受。享 is third tone, and you can see from the above picture that the third tone is more complicated than the other ones. kind of like an enlongated vowel in japanese, the third tone also just takes a bit longer to say.

so you can see how the word was chosen specifically because its starting tone makes it stand out from the rest of the sentence. its only noticable if you can say the sentence out loud, and it is completely lost in translation.

also tied into the interpretation is culture -- i know its a common and tired American joke that Chinese products are poor quality. While obviously completely false, there ARE cheap products, and especially for earbuds people tend to just go for the cheaper ones because they dont care much about the quality compared to price. so this marketing team is trying to say quality does matter.

ok rant over.

THANK YOU this legitimately helps me whenever I hear it and the reminder is always so necessary, so it's really cool to see it on their packaging. Yesterday I was walking around my apartment with my wireless earbuds in my hand, just aimlessly wandering around asking myself "WHAT THE HELL WAS I GONNA USE THESE FOR? WHAT EVEN ARE THESE?

i know this brand, the headphones are cheap (as in price, around 20€ the ones i got) but they freaking slap. such good headphones, beats any sony 20€ buds i bought. the only thing negative i can say is mine have a slight fizz when silent, but as soon as there's anything playing, i can't hear it. might just be my phone that does that honestly

don't use them much anymore, cuz my ears don't like in ear anything anymore
