What's ironic is that accusations of illegality re: fiction aren't even true in most cases. Most criminal investigation orgs around the world will scold you for wasting their time by reporting drawings or fanfiction and boot you out the door. And in places where such stuff is illegal on paper, investigators still don't take reports on weird ship art anywhere near as seriously as 'antis' would like them to. Which I guess is comforting, in a way? It's good to know that the antis that threaten to actually report people are brandishing the legal equivalent of a cardboard tube.

This is good to know! I thought it was true, but it stresses us out immensely to think about and try to learn the exact details of, per content, US state, and severity, because (as one might be able to infer, lol) this is relevant to us by way of some of our kinks. I know at one point we had heard/learned there was a particular (again, US) law that shrugs at drawn underage porn, but another that specifically targets shota porn. I think the tangled mess of different laws is also probably (maybe) by design so they can cherrypick when they want to actually enforce it, if they ever do. Fwiw our memory is shit and I could easily be remembering one law that's still in-effect and another that's now outdated. 🤷
