I think it is very funny to friend...ily (friendly...ly) say to our therapist "you're not my friend" and watch his face go through 1 million microexpressions because he knows I'm right and I know I'm right and he also agrees with me and that's just the client/practitioner relationship babey but it's still an inherently and perpetually awkward thing to transverse because it will never change and it is unlike any other relationship and no one has figured out how to do it in a way that isn't awkward if it's pointed out.
