Or, perhaps, 'effort' is the wrong way to frame it. Some titles earn the right to stay po-faced, but much late-night fare would be better if it admitted its silliness.

Iroha having to convince Komugi to meow like a cat, in particular, is several levels above the usual (and perfectly serviceable) 'Having to imitate the mascot's vocal tic' joke, and the drawings sell it perfectly.
The growing desperation in her voice too. Just some banger scenes they put together today.
