Permit me this one Magic post:
"Scam" is the MOST perfect deck archetype name, not just for being clever and evocative (lmao) but because the name is more accurate and clear than "evoke" which is only technically correct. It's the name of a mechanic that has no meaning if you aren't entrenched in the jargon, but only "scam" describes the feeling of what's actually happening, from its sheer unfairness and delicious smug feeling of being the one scamming.
The real problem with the name is it's TOO on the nose; saying players are getting scammed is like saying you know something is wrong. But competitive players live for the feeling of getting away with something. Is it really so terrible a feeling they need to call it something else?
