thinkin' 'bout boss design for tactics stuff.

ive fully internalized the axiom of, killing the boss shouldn't be the win con to a thing, they should instead be some horrific obstacle to the real wincon.

like a near perfect counter to say, a defense mission. Giant-ass, front invulnerable, living battering ram demon or whatever.
Forces players to stop turtling and mount some assault.
of course, the game is meant to be won.
so reinforcements loosen up. justified via "stay clear of the blast zone."

so beyond DPSmax/lanchestering, you can also like...
knockback and stunmax against the boss
debuff 'em to shit
buff one PC to max and send 'em off. the "Go get 'em champ" strat
