Been thinking about player deployment. It's super wargamey but the Game is to tell a story from the mechanics, and a battle can be a story all of itself, no?
And to play is to choose.
So, Deployment where...
-
An obviously advantageous spot, but only one person can deploy there. So the choice is who can BEST use this spot. [Chokepoint, High Ground, the only Evasion zone/woods, at some long range emplacement they can use to support from afar.
-
An obviously disadvantageous spot. Someone HAS to deploy here. So who can best endure it. [Only certain spots in 1 Move's range isn't on fire and they all suck. Surrounded and can only mitigate so much damage from moving. Far behind, and won't truly participate for a bit.] Maybe that last one sucks unless there's some movement shit you can spec into.
-
A spot way closer to the Objective, but it's way more dangerous because of unmitigated backline.
-
A spot falling apart, and in X rounds it'll collapse.
-
A completely isolated spot, and an enemy tuned for dueling is within a move's range.
