sometimes i just wanna be super incredulous and just slap on like "you know what an rpg is, you know how to rp. use these dice, here's how to make a character" and just get in there.

I've been wondering, is it relevant at all to include that section when you're an indie author? Like, I'd think it's very unlikely that someone accidentally stumbles upon what you do unless they were looking for it, you know?
yeah, the only time i feel like it happened was when I was playtesting in a ttrpg discord, and somehow roped in 3 first timers into a mecha musume thing.
Otherwise like, as you said, who's out there plucking random shit from itchio and goin' "we're starting HERE"?
As a reader I'm always interested in at the very least what this rpg is. If I'm reading it for design inspiration it tells me what your goals are as an author, and if I'm going to try and GM it I have some language to talk about it when I'm pitching it.
