Tori Tussle, a free TTRPG I made during the Touhou Fangame Jam 12, features automated enemies!

The game is meant to be played solo, or with a friend in coop, so I needed a way to make enemies unique beyond their statline, and I didn't want to use dice.

So I made the Pattern Sheet.

A Pattern Sheet is just a set of behaviors. When their turn comes up, or what they react, they'll follow what's on their sheet.

For dingus enemies, they get a very simple line of text. The Yellow Wolf will always line up, which means moving up and down on the grid, then try to blast you regardless of the range. It'll spawn far enough where you'll always be able to react.
It's a dumb robot, and fights predictably.

For a boss, they're complex enough to get their own page. And I had fun with 'em.

For the Momiji fight, because of the little implied beef Momiji has with Aya in Touhou, I made her sheet exclusively target the Aya player.

Everything is meant to get Momiji as close as possible to Aya, then bash her face in with her shield. It's all spellcard combat, so no matter how brutal it seems, its the equivalent of a slap fight.

Power is a stat that players can use to empower their abilities, and Momiji would be the first enemy you fight who can use it just like you. It makes her first turn scary, as she'll almost always pull the Aya player, then bonk their shit.

And, as a joke, if you're playing solo as Utsuho, this fight is completely skipped.

To those that played, I hope you enjoyed the Momiji fight as much as I did designing and testing it.
