a line of thought that's been overtaking me is like

TTRPG locations as a travel brochure.

For a discrete place in your setting, what would you write in a travel brochure?

Sights to see.
Things to do.

And compounding that on very idle thoughts of my personal dissatisfaction of games that try to emulate Blame.

There's Blam! the incomplete, /tg/ project with a jank as hell resolution system. It uses a 2d10 + Ability Score but the bonuses are so fucking big that, as a GM, you need to be on a razors edge to not obliterate your players.
It had the rad as fuck Critical Damage table that you rolled whenever you fired a GBE tho. You could level an entire floor, it was awesome.

'Cause accuracy and damage is the difference of a contested roll. Have fun.

There's Evolution Pulse but it's Fate. Fate's cool and all but the game lacks like, crawling mechanics and generators.

There's that one OSR thing from the Down We Go jam that I can't quite remember. It had the small RPG problem of "you better have read Blame front to back multiple times to even comprehend what's going on here!"

Verbs.

Cultivate and scrape mushrooms off a wall to eat.
Drain pipe sludge for sustenance.

Fire a GBE and punch a hole through 40km of materiel.

Find a Net Terminal Gene.

Fail at hacking the NetSphere.

Die, revive with a regressed brain.

Sword fight Silicon Swordsmen.

i dunno.
half the reason i make games is to be like "hey wanna see this cool shit. this is why it's cool. look, with this microglock you can shoot it so hard your arm explodes and you alert the world's antivirus. if you try to log onto Twitter 2 you get turned into a mannequin terminator. this is the weakest variant of terminators you get turned into."

just wanna make a Blame! game one day. it's too cool to only be a manga and an alright film.
